Volunteering is not an easy commitment. It requires passion, hard work and enthusiasm (often for things that are not very exciting). It will challenge your world-view, your theology, your personality and your relationship with God. It will sometimes make you cry and often question why? But it is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do and I hope you choose to go on an adventure with us.
AVS is an official program run by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. We only send volunteers to church run institutions and registered churches and each call is approved and supervised by someone appointed by the church system. When you serve through our programme you have a whole network of people behind you, supporting and encouraging you. Think of it like a big family watching out for you while you are far from home.
If something goes wrong, and we hope and pray it won’t, we have policies, procedures, a tailor-made insurance package and people in place to help you. Although we can’t guarantee your safety we can guarantee we will do our best to help in any difficult situation you might face and will call on our network of church workers and members to also help.
